What is PitWrench?
PitWrench is a $19 buyer inspection report for used off-road dirt bikes and dual-sport/adventure motorcycles. You submit a listing, photos, and what the seller told you; you get back a structured report: comps-based pricing (summer and winter bands), a dollar estimate of what maintenance is likely overdue based on the bike's hours, red-flag detection on both the bike and the seller's own listing language, mechanical risk by system, and exactly what to check in person before you buy.
How is this different from just asking an AI chatbot to look at the listing?
The suspension specs, known failure modes, and manufacturer recalls PitWrench checks against are a founder-curated database, hand-reviewed by a 15-year diagnostic mechanic — not just whatever a general-purpose AI model happens to know from training data. The report generation itself uses AI (a vision model reads the photos, a reasoning model writes the report), but it's checked against that verified knowledge base rather than reasoning from scratch every time.
What bikes are covered?
Two-wheeled off-road dirt bikes and dual-sport/adventure motorcycles — motocross, enduro, trail, and street-legal dual-sport/adventure models. ATVs, UTVs/side-by-sides, and pure street/sport motorcycles are explicitly out of scope: the report's mechanical-risk framework (hours-based two-stroke/four-stroke wear intervals, motocross-context repair costs) is built for two-wheeled off-road motorcycles and doesn't map onto CVT transmissions, differentials, or street-bike-specific wear patterns.
How long does a report take?
Typically 1-3 minutes after payment. The report is emailed to you as soon as it's ready.
Is this a substitute for an in-person inspection or a professional pre-purchase inspection (PPI)?
No. Every report recommends a professional pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic before you buy. PitWrench is advisory analysis based on what you submit — it's meant to make your in-person look sharper and give you real negotiating leverage, not replace physically inspecting the bike.
What if my report fails to generate?
You're refunded automatically, in full, to your original payment method — no need to ask. If generation hits an error, the system issues the refund and emails you to explain what happened.
Can I get a refund if I decide not to buy the bike, or disagree with the report?
No — once a report is successfully delivered, the service has been provided as purchased. The report is advisory analysis meant to inform your decision, not a guarantee of outcome, so refunds aren't offered for a completed report you simply disagreed with or a bike you chose to pass on. See the full refund policy for details.
What do I need to submit?
The listing (URL, platform, asking price, and the full listing text), 4-8 photos of the bike, and whatever the seller told you: claimed hours and hour-meter type, service history, mods, reason for selling, and any disclosed issues. Leave a field blank if the seller didn't say — the report treats "unknown" honestly rather than guessing.
Who built PitWrench?
Ryan — fifteen years as a diagnostic mechanic across gasoline, diesel, EV, and light rail, most recently at a powersports shop working on exactly these bikes. He hand-reviews and corrects every failure mode, suspension spec, and recall in PitWrench's knowledge base.
